Looking back and seeing all this time I'm with Kenny, makes me feel so blessed. I have no doubt that he is the best gift from God that came to me.
Kenny found me 9000km away, in the middle of 7 billion people, and 10,403,951 Belgians. He is leaving his country, his family , his comfort zone to embark on this adventure crossing the world just to be with me. Don’t know if it was fate, if it was the chance or whatever, but find a person that completes and respects you, that has everything to be a successful person in life, and feel that the feeling is reciprocal is great!
I honestly thought that love meant being together all the time, hugging, kissing ... I was merely mistaken, surely this is great part, but now I see that love is giving up of your plans, dreams, self-sufficiency, fears, pride and everything that makes you more distant from the person you love. I see Kenny becoming a better person by my side, happier, and that's what makes me happy. He already gave up on many things for me, just as I'm willing to do for him. I do not know what will happen when he back to Belgium, but now I say with absolute certainty that I will go wherever it is needed to be with him. I love my sunny country, I love having my family around, but when we have a chance like that we just cannot let it go.

ReplyDeleteThis morning when I woke up I saw a message from my boyfriend telling me of your story. My boyfriend and I meet online 5 months ago, eventually what started as a friendship grew up into something more deeply. Im from Puerto Rico and he is from Belguim too. Indeed, it is hard to be in a LDR but when there is love nothing is impossible. Love is the key! We are looking forward to see eachother in person for the first time this next summer 2013. Tú lo has dicho derecho, el amor es la clave de todo: la paciencia, la lealtad y todo lo que viene con una LDR. No fue fácil llegar hasta aquí, pero ahora mirando hacia atrás veo que toda esta espera es válida, es un sentimiento inexplicable contar los días para ver quién crees que es tu alma gemela, . Por eso digo, seguir adelante y tome ambos incentivos, como los críticos escépticos como motivación adicional para seguir adelante. Y Mantente en contacto, quizás algún día vamos a ser vecinos ;D
